About the Position:
Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Family Lawyer (Senior Associate or Special Counsel) to take on a key leadership position within its Family Law team. This is a genuine step-up role where you will drive strategy, mentor junior practitioners and maintain a hands-on role with quality files.
You will work with and help grow a team that may include a Junior Lawyer and dedicated paralegals, overseeing a varied mix of:
* Parenting and relocation disputes
* Complex property settlements and financial agreements
* Divorces and de facto separations
* Matters involving family and domestic violence orders
With sensible billable expectations (around 4.3 chargeable hours per day), you will have the space to focus on client strategy, mentoring, business development and building long-term referral relationships.
This position suits a seasoned Senior Associate ready for more responsibility, or an existing Special Counsel/Partner seeking greater autonomy and a clear equity pathway in a boutique setting.
Key Requirements:
* Minimum 8 years PAE in Family Law (private practice experience is needed for this role)
* Proven experience supervising or mentoring junior lawyers/support staff
* Strong technical ability across parenting, property, divorce and DV files
* Accredited Specialist in Family Law (or working towards) highly regarded
* Track record of building client relationships and contributing to practice growth
* Confident leader with a collaborative, approachable style
