About us:
Larvotto Resources is developing the Hillgrove Antimony and Gold Project and is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Fixed Plant Electrician to support our team and community in Armidale, NSW. Hillgrove is located 23km east of Armidale in northern NSW. Located in the New England region, Armidale is a well-serviced regional city surrounded by natural beauty. It is centrally located between Brisbane and Sydney and is only a short drive to the popular Coffs Coast.
Location:
This role is available on a residential basis only, including drive-in-drive-out arrangements from towns in close proximity to Armidale, NSW.
Work schedule:
This role follows 4 days on, 3 days off roster, working up to 12-hour shifts per day.
Position Overview:
This is an exciting opportunity for a Fixed Plant Electrician with previous experience in a mining or heavy industry role to contribute to the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of Hillgrove Mine. This role is responsible for maintaining and optimising critical processing plant equipment and infrastructure, mentoring junior team members and supporting a culture of continuous improvement across electrical systems and site operations.

Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems across processing plant equipment and surface infrastructure, including crushers, conveyors, pumps, and PLCs.
Respond promptly to electrical breakdowns to minimise downtime and ensure continuous operations.
Perform preventative maintenance, statutory testing, and high-voltage switching in line with safety and regulatory standards.
Install, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation and control systems to ensure accurate process monitoring.
Install and troubleshoot Variable Speed Drives (VSDs) and pneumatic components to optimise equipment performance.
Mentor apprentices and junior staff while maintaining accurate records and supporting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Experience:
Education:
Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician
Qualifications and Tickets:
The following qualifications are highly desirable:
Senior First Aid Certificate and CPR Qualification
Low Voltage Rescue (LVR)
High Voltage (HV) Switching
Elevated Work Platform (EWP)
Working at Heights (WAH)
Confined Spaces Ticket
Forklift Licence
Experience:
Two years’ experience in a similar role.
Demonstrated experience working in a mining or heavy industrial role.
Knowledge:
Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.
Knowledge of NSW workplace regulations and AS3000.
Software Proficiency:
Operate Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to automate and control systems.
Utilise Citect software for real-time monitoring and alarm management.
Driver’s License:
A valid manual driver’s licence.
Other Requirements:
Unrestricted rights to work in Australia.
Must be able to provide a valid National Police Clearance, obtained within the last six months upon request.
Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment, including drug and alcohol screening, and comply with ongoing testing during employment.
