Personal Support Specialist
We are seeking a skilled and empathetic Personal Support Specialist to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting people in need and making a positive impact in their lives.
Job Summary
The Personal Support Specialist will work closely with our Support Coordinators to provide capacity-building support to clients based on their recovery goals. This includes engaging with individuals at different levels of need, building and maintaining professional relationships, and working independently as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
* Engage with clients in a trauma-informed manner, providing emotional support and guidance as needed.
* Collaborate with Support Coordinators to develop and implement individualized support plans that address the unique needs and goals of each client.
* Provide crisis assistance, including support in mental health and homelessness, while modeling positive behaviors and emotional maturity.
* Develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders, promoting effective communication and collaboration.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of programs and services that promote social inclusion, diversity, and gender equality.
Requirements
* High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field an asset.
* Experience working with diverse populations, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, an advantage.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
* Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and client reporting systems.
