The position
As part of the 'Building Communities Not Prisons' initiative, the Justice Housing Program (JHP) has been funded by the ACT Government. This initiative supports efforts to reduce reoffending and overcrowding at the Alexander Maconochie Centre (AMC).
St Vincent de Paul Society Canberra / Goulburn provides intensive case management for the Justice Housing program. Those who otherwise would be incarcerated in the AMC due to a lack of suitable community-based accommodation or have no suitable alternative accommodation on release are eligible for the program.
The Case Manager will assertively work with occupants to develop client-led case management plans, in line with the ACT Wellbeing Framework and deliver intensive case management. Please note that this is a full-time fixed term position for 12 months.

About you
To be successful in this role you will see this role as more than just a job, bringing your proven ability to work autonomously across a range of programs and client types, with the demonstrated ability to prioritise a complex and varied case load whilst working with limited supervision and responding to competing priorities.
You will have well developed communication skills along with a proactive, passionate and collaborative mindset and a demonstrated resilience and capacity to adapt to frequent change and challenging environments.
A bachelor's degree, Certificate IV in Community Development or relevant qualifications are essential with proven experience in delivering intensive case management services within the community.
Successful applicants must be willing to undertake a National Police Check upon commencement, either hold or obtain a Working with Vulnerable People card and have a current driver's license.
