Project Engineer – Adelaide Projects (FRP & Reinforcement)
Position Reports to: Senior Project Engineer or Project Manager
Location: Projects in Adelaide, South Australia

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support the delivery of multiple projects across Adelaide and South Australia, with a strong focus on FRP systems and reinforced concrete works.
Purpose of the Role
The Project Engineer role within the Projects Division is to provide a leading role in the delivery of projects. To understand the technical and commercial aspect of a project. Actively ensuring and providing construction knowledge and direction to the delivery teams as well as ensuring a safe system of work, ensuring quality and environmental targets are achieved. Ensuring that the projects are aligned with the sustainable high-performance culture and core values on safety, quality, performance and cost.
Working Relationships
· Reports directly to the Project Manager/ Scheduling Manager
· Attends and contributes to daily/weekly team productivity and planning meetings (facilitate as required)
· Ensuring that projects are set up correctly, adequately resourced and planned and being delivered in line with company objectives and procedures and cleints expectations.
Working Conditons
This is a full-time position working on projects in South Australia and out of Carrabays Factory Office in Adelaide. Occasional visits to projects further affield may be required.
Major Accountabilities
· Check drawings and address technical queries.
· Completion of ITP documentation and submit to client and for internal records
· Be aware of any changes in drawings and this is communicated to the delivery teams
· Notify line manager about any problem or issues that cannot be resolved or affects safety or has a commercial impact
· Evaluate questions from Supervisors on site
· Take photos and upload them into system daily as part of site records
· Check site diary, that prestart is being filled out daily by supervisors.
· Check timesheets are being filled daily. Notify Super if not.
· Ensure dayworks dockets are captured for extra works and uploaded.
· Liaise with Temporary works Engineer for any temp works requirement for works
· Liaise with Client Engineer, PM and/or supervisor daily. Establish good communication.
· Complete POs (purchase orders) for items required.
· Study new projects after handover with Estimator.
· Complete 3 week lookahead with delivery team and keep up to date weekly.
· Attend weekly project meetings with Super, PM or SM. Take notes. File meeting agendas.
· Make necessary markups on drawings to assist delivery teams.
· Ensure budget and man days go as planned and records kept within company tracking tools
· Create and update resourced program for each project as per budget and project requirements.
· If any variations occur, prepare costing and discuss with manager.
· Prepare Monthly Claims and forward to client for approval
· Double check rebar schedules (meeting with schedulers) and approve – internal rebate processing Include any constructability input (dummy bars, length of bars limitation, etc)
· Coordinate with rebar team for delivery dates, time and address for reinforcement
Quality
· Ensure that all construction works comply with the plans and specifications
· Monitor the standard of workmanship for yourself and team
· Ensure the delivery team are aware that inspections and tests are carried out for every stage of the project as per approved project requirements ITP's and that all testing and hold points are observed with all records signed and completed appropriately
Safety
· Ensure that all incidents and high potential incidents are reported on to the Project Manager immediately and assist the managers to prepare an incident report within 12 hours of the incident event
· Assist or advise the Project Manager/Scheduling Manager to raise Corrective Action Requests (CAR) and Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) as required
· Assist or advise the Project Manager/ Scheduling Manager to review the project specific WHS documentation that has been prepared by the HSEQ team
· Ensure that emergency procedures are understood
· Ensure that all activities are compliant with the Project Safety Management Plan
· Weekly safety inspections with Carrabay team
Environmental
· Ensure that the site Environment risk assessments are being performed
· Assist the Project Manager/Scheduling Manager to review the project specific Environmental documentation that has been prepared by the HSEQ team
· Ensure that site activities are compliant with the contract Environmental Management Plan
Key Selection Criteria
· At least 3 years' experience in an Engineer role post graduate
· Strong understanding of corporate governance and compliance requirements
· Knowledge and understanding of reinforced concrete structures
· Demonstrated experience working with FRP systems.
· Commercially savvy and understands budgets and the requirement of KPIs
