An excellent opportunity to work within a growing business position commences early 2026 and become an integral member of the Equans Electrical and Communications team, where we take pride in our commitment to safety, quality, and innovation, ensuring seamless project execution from start to finish.

Located in Fairfield, we are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee electrical and communication installations on major construction projects throughout Melbourne, managing budgets, time schedules, labour requirements and teams to deliver exceptional results. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with industry high quality standards and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

* Project Planning & Execution: Develop project plans, define scope, set deadlines, and manage overall project lifecycle.
* Budget & Cost Control: Create estimates, manage budgets, monitor costs, and approve invoices.
* Team Leadership: Delegate tasks, coordinate electricians and subcontractors, and provide guidance.
* Stakeholder Communication: Act as the main point of contact, liaise with clients, contractors, and senior management, and provide progress reports, cost to complete & labour forecasting.
* Quality & Compliance: Ensure adherence to electrical codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
* Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential project risks and resolve issues or delays.
* Technical Oversight: Understand electrical systems, review drawings, and troubleshoot design problems.


Typical Duties

* Reviewing contracts, cost estimates, technical drawings, specification and scope of works.
* Monitoring material availability and resource allocation.
* Attending project meetings (Design, kick-offs, subbies, progress updates).
* Conducting post-project reviews and implementing lessons learned.


Required Skills & Knowledge

* Strong understanding of electrical systems and codes.
* Ability to interpret and develop project programmes.
* Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
* Proficiency in project management methodologies.
* Ability to read and interpret control circuits and drawings.
* Negotiate best possible pricing with suppliers and subcontractors.


What You Need

* Be available to start in the role early 2026.
* Project Management experience in the Electrical & Communications industry is essential to your success in this role.
* A can do attitude.
* Great communication skills.
* Enjoy working as part of a team and atomically.
* Minimum three years of experience in major electrical and network cabling.
* Contract administration skills will be highly regarded.
* IT proficiency (Word & Excel – intermediate).


Your Qualifications

* 'A' Class Electrical Licence.
* Project Management Qualification.
* Business Management Training.
* Victorian Drivers licence.
* Open Cabling Registration (preferred).
* Certificate III or IV in Electrotechnology/Telecommunications (preferred).
* WH&S and First Aid Certification (preferred).
