This large Federal Government agency is responsible for delivering critical services to Australians and is committed to fostering a safe, ethical and inclusive workplace. Their People & Culture division provides specialist support across the employee lifecycle and plays a key role in building capability, integrity and strong governance across the organisation. You will join a high performing Workplace Integrity team known for its positive culture and strong collaboration.

This is a labour hire opportunity until 31 December 2026.

Your new role

As the EL1 Assistant Director, Workplace Integrity, you will provide expert guidance, case management and investigative capability across complex people matters within an APS legislative environment. You will:
Research, interpret and apply APS HR legislation, the Enterprise Agreement and internal HR policies to provide high level advice on complex workplace issues.
Undertake risk evaluations and make independent decisions in challenging people related matters involving multiple impacts and sensitivities.
Conduct Code of Conduct investigations and manage associated cases under the Public Service Act 1999.
Conduct primary Reviews of Action and case manage secondary Reviews of Action under Section 33 of the Public Service Act 1999.
Manage external jurisdiction matters (Fair Work, AHRC, MPC, Federal Circuit Court) in partnership with Legal.
Review, analyse and maintain Workplace Integrity policies and contribute to broader People & Culture policy development
Analyse and report case metrics to provide meaningful insights and support strategic decision making for P&C Executives.
Represent the agency in complex stakeholder discussions and maintain strong relationships across Cyber, Fraud, Legal, Audit, Risk and operational teams.
This is a fast paced and agile environment where you will exercise autonomy, judgement and professionalism while managing sensitive and highly confidential matters.



What you'll need to succeed

This role is with a Federal Government agency and Australian citizenship is required.
Proven experience conducting workplace investigations, including Code of Conduct matters.
Strong case management capability with a robust and structured approach to risk.
Excellent research, analytical and problem solving skills.
Exceptional written communication, including preparing briefs, reports and formal findings.
Strong interpersonal skills, with confidence handling difficult conversations.
Demonstrated high ethical standards and sound judgement.
Effective stakeholder management and the ability to influence at senior levels.
Comfort working in a dynamic, agile and fast paced environment.
Highly desirable: Certificate IV in Government Investigations.
