Set within the beautiful natural bushland of our Forrestdale campus, Carey Baptist College is seeking a passionate, skilled, and adaptable Secondary Humanities Teacher to join our team.
This is a dynamic role covering Year 7 and Year 9 Humanities, along with the opportunity to lead our senior students through Year 12 ATAR Geography. We are looking for an educator who thrives on building strong relationships and inspiring curiosity about the world, its history, and its future.
While this is initially a fixed-term contract for Term 2, it may be extended.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver Engaging Curriculum: Facilitate high-quality learning for Year 7 and 9 Humanities, and provide expert instruction for Year 12 ATAR Geography.
* Foster Critical Thinking: Encourage inquiry, informed citizenship, and a deep understanding of social sciences.
* Support Student Wellbeing: Contribute to a positive, inclusive school culture that nurtures character development and academic achievement.
* Collaborate & Innovate: Work alongside a dedicated team to refine programmes aligned with the College's mission and strategic goals.
About You
You are an experienced, secondary-trained educator with a heart for student growth. You don't just teach facts, you help students make sense of contemporary global issues and real-world contexts.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
* A genuine passion for Humanities and senior Geography.
* Experience with (or an interest in) AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) and Visible Learning frameworks.
* The ability to organise well-structured lessons that provide constructive feedback to support student progress.
* A desire to play your part in the story of God in the world, as part of our open-enrolment Christian community.
