JR – Lecturer in Remote Health (Allied Health)

- 2 Year Contract | Full‑time | Starts early 2026
- Academic Level B | $113,211 − $133,974 per annum
- Location: Katherine – Jawoyn, Dagoman and Wardaman Country

About the Role

The Lecturer will specialise in Remote and Indigenous Health, facilitating research and educational programmes to prepare a health workforce for remote and Indigenous health care challenges. The role involves teaching, academic administration, evidence‑based research, and engagement with local and professional communities in alignment with Flinders University’s social accountability goals.

Key duties

- Contribute to allied health workforce programmes.
- Support health professional students on placement.
- Conduct research in rural health and workforce development.
- Collaborate with UDRH programme coordinators and health education teams across South Australia and the NT, fostering partnerships within Flinders University and external organisations.
- Provide guidance to research support staff and casual academics, ensuring alignment with University policies and standards.

About You

- Completion of a PhD in Health or equivalent, demonstrating professional standing and reputation.
- High quality teaching evidence in a tertiary environment, including topic coordination and curriculum design.
- Strong research track record at career stage, with quality publications and competitive grant attraction.
- Sound knowledge of rural and remote health practice in Australia, including contemporary population health and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health.
- Experience or capability to engage with e‑learning platforms.
- Current driver’s licence is essential.

Flinders Rural and Remote Health NT aims to be a hub for innovative health research, education, and workforce development across the NT. We support programmes such as the Northern Territory Medical Program, paramedicine, rural clinical school, and the University Department of Rural Health. Our postgraduate education pathways provide workforce development through Indigenous health and clinical skills training.
