Position commences Term 1 in 2026, as early as can be negotiated.
We are looking for a person to be The Network Administrator, at FLCR, who ensures stability, security, and efficient operation of ICT network infrastructure, supporting teaching, learning, and administrative functions. This role involves managing cloud services, wired and wireless networks, security management for student and staff data, and ensuring reliable access to educational platforms and resources. The position also provides technical support for hardware, software, and application issues, and contributes to the ongoing development of ICT systems across all College sites.
Key Responsibilities
Network & Systems Management
* Install, configure, and maintain network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) and software across classrooms, staff areas, and administrative offices, Azure Cloud VM management skills.
* Manage Network Routing and Switching to ensure secure and reliable access for students and staff.
* Monitor and Manage Phones, Surveillance Camera, AV, Photocopiers, PA System, MDM, Door Access.
* Monitor and Manage network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues to minimise disruption to teaching and learning.
* Assist with the maintenance and operation of all Azure server computers operated by the College.
* Maintain and repair workstations and laptops owned and operated by the College.
* Assist with the installation and commissioning of new ICT infrastructure.
Security and Compliance
* Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection systems, and Azure Cloud Services.
* Ensure compliance with data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR) and school policies.
* Apply content filtering and safeguarding measures to protect students online.
* Take reasonable steps to secure the privacy and integrity of data held on college server and computers.
* Demonstrated applied understanding of computer security issues including the control of computer viruses.
User Support
* Administer user accounts, permissions, and access rights for staff and students.
* Provide technical support and guidance to teachers, administrative staff, and students on network-related and general ICT issues.
* Provide application software support across a range of operating systems.
* Provide end user support to authorised staff in the use of hardware and software.
* Prioritise requests for support to ensure efficient use of College ICT resources.
Documentation
* Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, changes, and procedures.
* Develop and maintain necessary records of the operation, backup, and maintenance of College resources.
Disaster Recovery
* Perform regular backups and maintain disaster recovery plans for critical educational systems.
* Test recovery procedures to ensure continuity of teaching and administrative operations.
Additional Duties
* Comply with all reasonable directions and duties allocated by the Business Manager, Director of ICT.
* Assist with general technical services and other duties as required by the Principal.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field, or Preferred Certificate level or higher qualification relevant to the position.
* Proven experience in network administration and ICT support within an educational or similar environment.
Preferred Certifications
* Azure Certification, Microsoft Network certification.
* Security certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP) are advantageous.
* Experience with Apple and Microsoft products and operating systems.

Area of Operation
To work as directed at any physical location owned or operated by Faith Lutheran College Redlands, which may require regular travel between sites.
