This is a recruitment pool for Permanent Full Time and Fixed Term Full Time appointments with the possibility of extensions and/or permanency.

Peel and Rockingham Kwinana (PaRK) Mental Health Service is seeking applications for Clinical Nurses

Rockingham Peel Group is part of the South Metropolitan Health Service, one of the fastest growing health services in Western Australia and comprises two hospital campuses, Rockingham General Hospital and Murray District Hospital, in addition to community and mental health services across Peel, Rockingham and Kwinana. As the flagship hospital, Rockingham General is focused on providing high quality general medical, surgical and mental health services as well as outpatient care. Murray District Hospital offers inpatient medical services, palliative care and allied health services.

About SMHS Mental Health

SMHS Mental Health provides a comprehensive range of public mental health services for consumers through its community mental health services, hospitals and community health centres.

The South Metropolitan Health Service's (SMHS) Mental Health Services are delivered by two sites (Fiona Stanley Fremantle Hospital Mental Health, and the Peel and Rockingham Kwinana Mental Health), which deliver specialist mental health services across the South Metropolitan Health catchment area.

SMHS Mental Health Services deliver extensive inpatient and community based mental health programs, targeted at:

* supporting people with serious and enduring mental illness,
* promoting meaningful and lasting recovery,
* early assessment intervention and treatment,
* supporting transitions to maximise independence

SMHS delivers quality, safe and effective hospital and health services within a catchment area stretching more than 3300 square kilometres across the southern half of Perth.

About Peel Rockingham and Kwinana (PaRK) Mental Health:

PaRK Mental Health is a community mental health service for adults and older adults who are based in Rockingham and Peel. We provide a comprehensive range of services and programs for individuals, families and groups which include:

mental health assessment, treatment and ongoing care planning

support and education for families and carers

support, consultation and education to general practitioners, community agencies and general hospitals

mental health rehabilitation programs, including Intensive Day Therapy.

Evidenced based clinical psychological individual and group interventions such as DBT; CBT; CBT for Psychosis, Schema Focused therapy; EMDR.

As part of a multidisciplinary team you will provide clinical and professional expertise to ensure comprehensive evidence-based nursing care is delivered to patients. You will facilitate and promote patient safety and quality of care. The Clinical Nurse practices within their scope of practice considerate of the Nursing and Midwifery Board's Nursing Practice Decision Flowchart.

Currently we have vacancies existing in:

Assessment Treatment Team – ATT

This is the first point of access to Rockingham Peel Group (RkPG) Community Mental Health Services. The teams provide assessment, acute response and brief intervention for clients aged 18 to 64 years for a period up to the maximum of 10 weeks. The teams are recovery focused and work with the client providing intensive support when required. The teams also work with the client's family and carers in the management of the client. The GP liaison positions are embedded in both the Rockingham and Peel ATT and CTT teams. Both ATT and CTT teams liaise with drug and alcohol services and specialist assessment and support for people with co-morbidities is available. Referrals are reviewed daily in the Intake meeting and allocated a case manager/care coordinator as required.

Clinical Treatment Team – CTT

The team provides on-going treatment and support for people with enduring mental illness through comprehensive assessment, specialist treatment and intervention, and a collaborative approach to care plans and discharge plans. The team also refer and support to link with appropriate service providers if required.

Early Episode Psychosis – EEP

The Early Episode Psychosis Team (EEP) covers the Rockingham Peel Group Catchment area with clinicians located in both the Rockingham and Peel Adult Community Mental Health clinics.

The EEP Program is an evidence based intensive care coordination service dedicated to early detection and intervention for individuals in the early stages of psychosis. The goal is to provide a service that promotes early recovery for people experiencing psychosis using a biopsychosocial model and to provide support to their family and carers. The team is multidisciplinary and made up of clinical nurses, social workers, clinical psychologists, occupational therapists, psychiatric registrars and a consultant psychiatrist who pride themselves on working collaboratively to enhance client care.

Intensive Day Therapy Unit (IDTU) – Catalpa Centre

The Intensive Day Therapy Unit (Catalpa Centre) is a sub-acute service providing non-residential Step-up/Step down services through a day program. The target population for the IDTU is consumers between 16 – 64 years who are significantly disabled by mental illness and/or who require intensive treatment. The maximum length of treatment within the IDTU will be 12 weeks.
