Job Summary
As a Technical Property Officer, you will be responsible for managing Council property matters, including land acquisitions, disposals, leases, licences, road openings/closures and statutory dealings.
This role requires the ability to provide technical advice and administrative support to ensure compliance with legislation and deliver property services to Council and the community.
The successful candidate will have qualifications in property, law, valuation or related field (or extensive experience) and knowledge of property law, leases, titles and statutory processes.
You will be required to handle property transactions, manage Council's property registers, prepare and process legal documents and NSW Land Registry forms.
Additionally, you will need to advise on property, titling and road status issues, communicate professionally with landowners, agencies and the public, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and Council policies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage Council property matters, including land acquisitions, disposals, leases, licences, road openings/closures and statutory dealings.
* Provide technical advice and administrative support to ensure compliance with legislation and deliver property services.
* Handle property transactions (acquisitions, disposals, easements, licences).
* Prepare and process legal documents and NSW Land Registry forms.
* Advise on property, titling and road status issues.
* Communicate professionally with landowners, agencies and the public.
* Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and Council policies.
Skills & Qualifications:
* Qualifications in property, law, valuation or related field (or extensive experience).
* Knowledge of property law, leases, titles and statutory processes.
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
* Current driver's licence.
* Desirable: Local government experience, Roads Act knowledge, Native Title accreditation.
