Goodline have been awarded a major expansion project for Rio Tinto on their Cape Lambert Site located within the Pilbara region of W.A. The project scope is to introduce High Density Ore to the Cape Lambert A site which includes Civil, SMPE&I construction to upgrade the existing infrastructure.
As the Lead (SMP) Project Engineer, you will oversee the mechanical, structural and piping engineering functions for the project. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will play a central leadership role in coordinating engineering, planning, QA, project controls, and contract administration to ensure safe, efficient and high‐quality project execution.
Your mechanical construction expertise will be instrumental in supporting our supervisory teams and ensuring the successful delivery of a large, multi‐disciplinary site scope.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical or related discipline)
Construction Induction Card (White Card) – Mandatory
ABOUT YOU
You bring strong technical capability and proven on‐site leadership experience, including:
* 10+ years' experience in mechanical or SMP project engineering within mining, resources, or large‐scale construction environments.
* Demonstrated success delivering multi‐discipline mechanical construction projects in Brownfield or Greenfield settings.
* Strong contract management experience, including oversight of variations, claims, and supporting Contract Engineers.
* Experience managing procurement, suppliers, and subcontractors within mechanical scopes.
* Strong ability to identify and mitigate mechanical, contractual, schedule, and safety risks.
* Leadership capability to manage engineering, planning, QA, contract administration, and project controls teams.
* Ability to forecast, plan, sequence and schedule mechanical construction works, including assessing delays and implementing mitigation strategies.
* Effective stakeholder management skills across mechanical, structural, electrical and commercial teams.
* Demonstrated commitment to fostering a positive team culture focused on safety, quality, and environmental performance.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
