What We Are Looking For
As the Purchasing Officer, you will be responsible for the purchasing, coordination and supply management of general componentry required for production across the business. This includes ensuring timely ordering, cost control, supplier management and accurate system maintenance to support manufacturing operations. Reporting to the Head of Purchasing, we are looking for someone that has :
* 3+ years' experience in purchasing, procurement or supply chain (manufacturing environment preferred)
* Experience sourcing from domestic and international suppliers
* Understanding of inventory control principles and production scheduling requirements
This role will be based onsite at our HQ in Scoresby.
What The Role Entails
* Responsible for the purchasing and freight coordination of all production componentry including (but not limited to) hardware, fittings, mechanisms, trims, foam, packaging, and ancillary materials
* Manage day‐to‐day expenditure of componentry and process local and international costings
* Monitor and negotiate pricing, MOQs, lead times and trading terms with suppliers to ensure cost efficiency and supply continuity
* Expedite deliveries to meet production schedules and proactively manage potential delays
* Maintain optimal stock levels in consultation with Production and Warehouse teams to avoid shortages or overstocking
* Assist Production, Customer Service and R&D teams to resolve component‐related issues, including quality concerns
* Raise and manage Non‐Conformance Reports where required and liaise with suppliers to resolve quality or supply issues
* Identify slow‐moving or redundant SKUs and provide recommendations for rationalisation
* Maintain accurate component information within the internal database including pricing, lead times, supplier details, availability and delivery ETAs
* Review and sign off supplier invoices in consultation with the Finance Team
* Prepare monthly reporting including savings initiatives, supplier performance, stock levels and risk analysis
* Provide planning information relating to forecasted costs, inventory levels and future supply requirements
* Support stocktakes of componentry across business locations as required
* Provide support with showroom or homewares component purchasing where required
