Champion Data has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dedicated Business Analyst to join our team
The Business Analyst manages the requirements lifecycle for assigned projects, products and initiatives to ensure stakeholder needs are met and manage scope so that work is delivered on time and within budget. They work closely with delivery teams to ensure that requirements are clearly understood and to maintain efficient and effective delivery day-to-day. They will contribute to quality outcomes through developing, enacting and maintaining processes that assure quality and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis
Gathering, validating, and documenting requirements.
Define and refine Acceptance Criteria.
When authorised, review and accept work against specifications and acceptance criteria on behalf of stakeholders.
Modelling business processes and identifying opportunities for process improvements.
Identifying issues, risks and benefits of existing and proposed solutions and outlining business impacts
Creating functional specifications for solutions
Assisting in the estimation of costs and identifying business benefits
Simplifying information and deciphering technical jargon so it is easily understood by the whole team.
Supporting business transition and helping to establish change.
Improving our capability in business analysis.
Project Management and Delivery
Planning and managing the successful delivery of assigned projects.
Providing regular written and verbal updates to stakeholders on progress, issues, and risks for assigned projects.
Defining and prioritizing the product backlog on behalf of Product Owners and/or stakeholders.
Work with cross-functional teams to ensure an appropriate level of quality is maintained.
Acting as the primary point of contact for the development team for assigned projects.
Communicating with stakeholders to ensure that the products and services meet their needs.
Managing changes to product backlogs and ensuring that the development team has a clear understanding of the requirements.
Collaborating with the development team to ensure that the product is delivered on time and within budget.
Track and report on project effort and budget.
Report on test results to stakeholders.
Participating in and/or leading project meetings including planning, review, and retrospective meetings.
Presenting to stakeholders on project progress and outcomes, including showcasing products and services.
Ongoing refinement of the Project Management Methodologies (i.e. Agile/Scrum), Business Analysis and Test Methodologies to suit Champion Data's ongoing strategic developments
About You
You have developed your skills in a consulting environment with strong commercial focus. You're interested in sport as a participant or spectator but don't necessarily have work experience. Workshops, story writing and building close relationships are your jam. In high pressure environments you're cool, calm and collected. You build trust with senior stakeholders and clients using open, regular, factual communication.
Extensive experience in requirements gathering, analysis, and documentation.
Experience working in several project teams with varying roles
Extensive experience working within and applying Agile methodologies and project management processes
Experience working as a proxy for the Product Owner
Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with technical and non-technical stakeholders, developers, and team members
Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations
Experience in developing and managing project plans, product roadmaps and backlogs
Ability to prioritize and manage tasks and deliverables
Experience using agile project management tools such as JIRA,, etc.
Understanding of technical concepts and ability to work with technical teams
Experience in conducting stakeholder interviews and user research
Ability to identify risks and mitigations associated with project deliverables
Experience in product launch and ongoing product support
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Keen interest and knowledge of a range of sports will be a significant advantage
