Job Description
Our Disability Support Workers provide personalized care and support to clients in their own homes, helping them to maintain their independence and live fulfilling lives. This role involves working with individuals who have varying levels of support needs, including those with mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, and trauma.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Providing emotional support and companionship to clients
* Assisting clients with daily living tasks, such as personal care and domestic duties
* Supporting clients to engage in community-based activities and pursue their interests
* Modeling and encouraging positive social behaviors
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:
* A Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or higher
* Experience working with people with disabilities, particularly those with mental health issues
* Previous experience in medication assistance and administration is highly recommended
* Demonstrated understanding of incident reporting, quality documentation, complaints handling, and complex behavior strategic support
* Positive attitude and willingness to learn
* Owning a vehicle with comprehensive insurance and being willing to use it for work purposes
