This role focuses primarily on servicing and repairing heavy trucks and recovery vehicles. You will play a key part in maintaining fleet reliability, safety and compliance, ensuring vehicles are operational and ready for daily deployment. This position suits a trade-qualified mechanic who enjoys working on trucks, fault-finding and maintaining high mechanical standards. Tasks & Responsibilities * Service, diagnose and repair heavy diesel trucks * Conduct preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing * Perform breakdown repairs and fault-finding * Work across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems * Maintain fleet reliability and compliance standards * Complete maintenance documentation and service records * Ensure adherence to WHS and safety procedures Skills & Experience * Trade-qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic * Strong experience working on heavy trucks (essential) * Solid diagnostic and fault-finding skills * Ability to work independently in a workshop environment * Strong safety focus and attention to detail * HR licence highly regarded Benefits & Perks * $45-$55 per hour super (depending on experience) * Full-time, permanent role * Stable workshop-based position * Consistent local work (no FIFO) * Supportive team environment * Long-term employment opportunity About the company The employer is a well-established Canberra-based heavy transport and recovery business operating a modern fleet of trucks and specialised vehicles.
