What you'll be doing

The Health Information Clerk is responsible for maintaining patient/client personal health information in both the electronic and hard copy health records in accordance with NSW Health policies, guidelines and the State Records Act.

The health information department is the central repository for health records that facilitates the sharing of personal health information and guards against loss, misuse and inappropriate access of these records.

Selection Criteria

* Demonstrated experience and understanding of work flow that encompasses good record management keeping practices for e.g. creating, compiling, retrieving, tracking records with accuracy and attention to detail.
* Demonstrated ability to interpret and negotiate client/customer needs and adapt to the different needs of individuals whilst applying a strong customer focus.
* Demonstrated competency to utilise a range of computer applications such as Microsoft Office with an aptitude to learning new IT systems.
* Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise and organise multiple competing tasks to meet deadlines.
* Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, while working effectively in a team environment with an emphasis on communication and handover tasks.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate understanding and commitment to the concept of privacy and confidentiality of personal and personal health information.
* Current unrestricted drivers' licence and the ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires. This may involve driving long distances.
