Our customers have varying needs and love to engage with Support Workers who are confident, outgoing and thrive when assisting them to reach their goals. Daily supports vary but will include assisting with personal care, accompanying our customers to medical appointments, helping them to get ready for work or attend various community activities such as swimming, sporting activities, visiting the mall or accompanying them on exciting days out.This permanent part-time position requires an experienced Male to work a roster of 12 hours per week please see details attachedThe Employer considers that being male is a genuine occupational qualification for this position under Section 27 (2), (c), (e) and (g) of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984.A typical day in the role may look like Supporting person-centred plans that identify a customer's life goals and working to achieve themJoining customers in recreational activities;Supporting customers in daily living skills such as meal preparation, housekeeping, health and hygiene, medication administration and attending appointments;Ensuring positive behaviour support plans are followed; andAdministration duties and mandatory daily reports.The ideal candidate will have:Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationshipsExperience with Dementia and associated medicationsPassion for providing service and assistance and helping others live their best livesPrevious experience or willingness to train in manual handling and medication administrationWillingness to assist with personal care (showering, toileting) and domestic duties (meal preparation, housekeeping)Proven administration and computer literacy skillsAvailability to work one of the included roster patternsWillingness to use your fully insured and registered, private vehicle (aligned with Activ's motor vehicle allowance rebate).Submitting your application is easy.
