An exciting and rewarding opportunity is available for suitably qualified nurses to join the Nursing team at Portland District Health. We are currently seeking enthusiastic and highly motivated Registered Nurses, Registered Midwives, Enrolled Nurses, and Healthcare Workers for our casual bank. Positions available across our healthcare setting. You will be supporting the clinical skills of our staff, whilst contributing to the quality, safety and risk management programs for the clinical unit/department.
Salary will be in accordance with the relevant Award, plus penalties and superannuation with access to salary packaging (conditions apply).
About you
Registered Nurse, Registered Midwife, Enrolled Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) via Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Qualified Healthcare Worker with Certificate 3 or 4
Demonstrated ability to practice collaboratively and work effectively as part of multidisciplinary health care team
Excellent communication, interpersonal, written, verbal and ICT skills
Understands and embodies person-centred care in practice skills that align with AHPRA registration requirements & PDH frameworks, policy and procedures
Aptitude and willingness to learn new processes and procedures under direction from senior Unit staff
Demonstrated understanding of the needs, issues and sensitivities of people from diverse backgrounds and cultures

Portland District Health (PDH) provides an integrated health service for the community. The hospital was established in **** on the current site and now provides a comprehensive range of services that include:
Hospital based Medical and Surgical services, Medical Imaging (Radiology), Pharmacy and Pathology
A 24/7 Urgent Care Centre for emergency treatment
Residential aged care for 30 residents at Harbourside Lodge
An extensive range of primary and community services for the local community
PDH delivers services from a single campus, employs around 470 staff with an FTE of approximately 290, and has an active volunteer workforce. The People and Culture Unit sits within the Corporate Services Directorate, with other Units including Finance, Building Services, Food Services, Environmental Services, Executive Support, Administration and Health Information.
