Delivering outstanding results as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in driving our building cost management and construction consulting services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Effectively estimate and monitor construction costs across multiple stages of the project lifecycle, from feasibility to tender preparation and beyond.
* Strategically maximise value, mitigate risk, and optimise all building cost outcomes.
* Provide meticulous detailed cost estimates derived from measured scope of works.
* Mentor and support junior Quantity Surveyors.
* Analytically compare contractor's quotations against industry standard building rates and margins.
* Develop elemental reports to estimate 'value at risk' for underinsurance purposes, ensuring accurate assessments.
* Prepare and process progress claims and variation assessments with precision.
* Collaborate closely with internal loss adjusters to achieve seamless outcomes.
About You:
* A bachelor's degree in Building and Construction Management or a related field is essential.
* Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
* Strong knowledge of the insurance industry, including the legislative framework, applicable codes, and products, is necessary.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office is expected.
* In-depth understanding of building costs and construction techniques is crucial.
* Previous experience working within the insurance industry on domestic and commercial losses is preferred.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are vital.
