Come and work with us at the Western Sydney Records Centre Take part in providing and promoting access to the NSW State Archives Collection, which provides valuable evidence of events and decisions which have shaped our history, communities and lives. We are seeking a motivated and engaged Archivist who can deliver arrangement and description activities at our Western Sydney reading room.

What the opportunity is:

Employment with Museums of History NSW as an Archivist Grade 1, with a remuneration package including salary ($75,728 - $98,943), employer's contribution to superannuation, and annual leave loading.

Key Responsibilities:

* Deliver arrangement and description activities at the Western Sydney reading room.
* Work across Sydney as part of a specialised and professional team supporting MHNSW to achieve its goals.

What we do

Museums of History NSW brings together a portfolio of iconic museums, rich collections, and heritage sites, the nation's oldest archive collection, vital recordkeeping services, and expert staff.

We bring history to life by sharing the stories of our places and collections. Through the State Archives Collection, we manage NSW's official documentary heritage, supporting government transparency and the public's right to access information.

What you'll do with us:

MHNSW brings together the museums, historic houses, and associated collections previously in the care of Sydney Living Museums with the vast collection of more than 13 million items held by the former NSW State Archives.

1. Submit a one to two-page cover letter outlining how your skills and experiences meet the essential requirements for this role.
2. Provide a current resume listing two referees.
3. Respond to the 2 targeted questions (no more than 300 words per answer).

Essential Requirements:

* Possession of qualifications acceptable for professional membership of the Australian Society of Archivists (ASA) or other combination of qualifications and experience deemed equivalent.
* Ability to participate in a rostered working arrangement in accordance with the provisions of the Flexible Working Agreement.
