The Role
The SEA3000 Project is seeking an experienced committed and passionate person who undertake the APS 6 Project Scheduler role within the General Purpose Frigates (GPF) Branch.
The APS 6 Project Scheduler will work under limited direction within the team/branch in support of the Project Director and Project Managers. They will plan, manage, and deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment, exercising independent and sound judgement.
The responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
* The build and development of a high-quality Integrated Master Schedule;
* Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure schedule alignment with key milestones and deliverables;
* Conduct schedule analysis including critical path, float, and risk assessments. Identify risks, uncertainties, and opportunities during the planning processes and develop and implement agreed recommendations that contribute to project outcomes;
* Provide timely and accurately schedule updates, reports, and dashboards to internal and external stakeholders;
* Contribute to continuous improvement of scheduling practices and tools across the branch/division;
* Accountable for continued participation and completion of competencies in line with the Scheduling Career pathway and ongoing professional development.
About our Team
The SEA3000 Project resides in the General Purpose Frigates (GPF) Branch within the Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group, as part of the Major Surface Combatants and Combat Systems Division. The Branch has been established for the accelerated delivery of up to eleven (11) GPF vessels, and is the forefront of ADF Maritime Capability delivery.
This position is based at Alan Woods Building (AWB), Canberra. To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate an ability to apply project control and project management methodologies to comply with legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks.
You will be relied upon to research; draft briefs, correspondence and reports; and resolve problems using expertise, taking the initiative to identify alternative courses of action. Strong communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to drive performance through collaborative relationships and strategic planning is essential.
The right person for this role will have:
* Demonstrated experience in project scheduling within Defence, Government, or complex technical environments;
* Proficiency in scheduling tools such as Open Plan Professional (OPP), Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent;
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail;
* Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels;
* A collaborative mindset and commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes;
* High-level organisational skills, self-drive and initiative with the ability to influence others to achieve tasks and business objectives.
