JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position provides administrative and operational support to the Operations Manager in the development, enhancement, and maintenance of the Muchea Livestock Centre's assets. This includes coordinating maintenance activities across the facility's buildings, infrastructure, equipment, furniture, and vehicle fleet.
The position also undertakes the day‐to‐day operational activities such as contract administration, preparing and distribution of weekly invoices, processing purchase order requests and other administrational tasks.
Key priorities include:
* Maintains and updates the asset service register, ensuring all facility, equipment, and vehicle assets are accurately recorded and that scheduled servicing and planned maintenance activities are undertaken.
* Procures contractors to carry out both scheduled and reactive maintenance activities including obtaining quotes and preparing purchase requests.
* Creates and issues weekly charges to users of the Muchea Livestock Centre (MLC)
* Manages the fleet of leased vehicles, including acquisition and disposal, liaising with WA Government agency on Government Fleet matters.
* Carries out administrative duties in line with the Authorities abattoir compliance policies and procedures.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
Essential Selection Criteria
* Previous experience within an operational/ business support environment and commitment to the delivery of quality customer service.
* Experience working within a financial environment including procurement and invoice processing.
* Experience working in a payroll environment with basic knowledge and experience in interpretation of relevant awards, guidelines and agreements primarily the Public Service Award 1992 Award and related PSCSA Agreements.
* Good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills including the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
* Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment displaying a high standard of organisational skills.
* Demonstrated problem solving skills with the ability to use initiative and flexibility to identify solutions.
Desirable Selection Criteria
* Previous employment in the Public Sector.
* An understanding of the Financial Management Act 2006.
* Experience working within a livestock or saleyard/agricultural environment.
