The Position
You'll join the Hospital in the Home (HITH) team — an established, forward-thinking service providing acute hospital-level care to patients in their homes or community settings. Patients remain under hospital care while receiving daily visits or remote follow-up from the clinical team, reducing in-hospital stays and supporting better outcomes.
Your role is primarily based in the ED's low-acuity clinic, managing minor procedures and urgent care presentations. It involves a blend of general practice and hospital medicine, with possible weekend on-call and weekday hours (0830–1730).
The HITH model is part of Queensland Health's broader commitment to delivering flexible, high-quality care outside traditional hospital settings. It suits GPs who want to stay sharp across a range of presentations while being part of a clinically respected, patient-focused, and innovative service.

Benefits Provided
- $1,950 per day – payroll with salary packaging or PTY Ltd invoicing available (paid weekly)
- Travel covered – flights or mileage up to $1,000
- Accommodation & car – up to $150/day (plus one travel day)
