We’re seeking motivated Pharmacy Technicians to join our high performing clinical and operational teams in a supportive environment. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will work as part of our Pharmacy Team to provide Pharmacy services across our network.
Working in Victoria’s largest Hospital Pharmacy Department, you will have the opportunity enhance your knowledge and skills through a broad range of rotations in different practice areas and locations including the brand new Victorian Heart Hospital. We invite our staff to express their preferences for which sites and roles they would like to be rostered to (we are able to accommodate most staff preferences).
A Day in the Life
As a Pharmacy Technician your responsibilities may include:
1. Inpatient medication supply – work closely with the clinical Pharmacy teams to manage and distribute medicines from the Pharmacy department to wards/clinical areas for inpatient use
2. Dispensary – assist with dispensing prescriptions, maintaining stock levels within the dispensary, interacting with patients and processing patient payments
3. Procurement – coordinate ordering, receipt, storage and quality management of medicines and supplies within the Pharmacy department
4. Aseptic preparation and compounding – assist with compounding of products and quality assurance activities (after successful completion of appropriate training and credentialing)
5. Other specialised areas – PBS management, clinical trials, clinical support
Pharmacy Technicians work an 8-hour shift per day between 8am and 8pm, Monday to Friday, plus some rostered overtime including weekends and public holidays. Part time roles we require a minimum commitment of at least 2 weekdays per week, plus some rostered overtime including weekends and public holidays.
