VicGrid is a division in DEECA's Energy Group that co-ordinates the planning and development of Victoria's Renewable Energy Zones (REZs), including overseeing investments to strengthen the transmission grid and unlock the potential of REZs. VicGrid is facilitating major transmission network upgrades in Victoria and implementing transmission planning reforms through the Victorian Transmission Investment Framework, which includes the development and delivery of transmission infrastructure projects.
Reporting to the Director of Project Delivery, the Technical Lead - Access and Connections, Project Delivery is responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of large and sophisticated transmission projects during the feasibility, concept, construction, and commissioning phases to ensure that new generation projects can connect to the National Electricity Market (NEM). The position is responsible for identifying, developing, and assessing access and connection arrangements for project options, business case inputs and proponents' bids. This will also include working with the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) to ensure that all proposed arrangements reflect optimal outcomes for Victorians, as well as ensuring suitable access arrangements are developed for transmission projects to coordinate offshore wind in Victoria.
To be successful in this role, you will be a qualified civil, structural and/or electrical engineer with extensive industry experience managing the development and delivery of access regimes. You will ideally have knowledge of the relevant legislation, Australian Standards and Government policy guidelines which govern the design, construction and environmental assessment of complex engineering and transmission projects. Knowledge of the PLS-CADD suite including POLE, TOWER would also be desirable.
