Hays is currently partnered with a Federal Government agency to recruit an ASP5 Project Officer in a temporary capacity. This company is an independent statutory agency that is responsible for implementing programs that support a better life those with a significant and permanent disability and their families and carers.
**Your new role**
This role will provide detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support and advice in relation to complex problems. This is a team leaderships position, and will provide guidance, control, planning, resource management, performance management and decision making for the team.
Responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in project management and coordination activities, monitoring and reviewing program and project activities against plans.
- Contributing to the development and management of project plans and schedules in accordance with the agency's project management framework.
- Providing advice, procedural guidance and technical expertise in specific areas of project work.
- Performing research work and analysis including contributing to the preparation of reports on relevant project activities.
- Contributing to regular project reporting including status updates and exception reports.
- Drafting a range of written material including business cases, plans, executive briefs and corporate documentation for review.
- Assisting with monitoring project budgets, review and report on expenditure and assist with procurement and contract management.
- Assisting with the identification and management of project risks, issues and benefits.
- Assisting with project quality management to ensure that project deliverables are fit for purpose and meet client needs.
- Collaborating with team members to achieve program, project and business outcomes.
**What you'll need to succeed**
To be considered for this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or Business Management would be desirable
- Extensive experience in developing complex and agile financial models to support business decisions
- Demonstrated experience in project management and the ability to effectively prioritise work, meet deadlines and set service expectations
- Efficient and comprehensive reporting skills
- Expertise in the use of IT systems with intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience managing a corporate budget successfully
- Ability to coherently express complex concepts both orally and in writing

This role offers you an attractive rate of $53.63 per hour plus super, full time hours and an initial 12-month contract with the possibility of an extension.
