We are seeking an experienced Heritage Consultant/Archaeologist to join our team and work on various projects focused on Aboriginal Cultural Heritage.
This is a fixed-term contract to cover parental leave, commencing in August 2025. We offer flexible arrangements for full-time or part-time work, with potential for the position to be extended.
About the Role
The role involves preparing archaeological and heritage assessments, conducting field surveys, excavations, research, report writing, and project management. As a member of our multi-disciplinary consultancy, you will have opportunities to develop technical and professional skills in a supportive environment.
* A bachelor's degree or higher in Archaeology with Australian archaeology studies (preferably from an Australian university)
* Practical knowledge and understanding of the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974
* Experience working with clients and regulators
* Expertise in managing archaeological survey, field assessment, and excavation
* Previous consulting experience (minimum 4 years) with leadership roles
* Proficiency in leading the preparation of Aboriginal Due Diligence Reports, Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Assessment Reports, and other related documents
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively with Aboriginal people, including community consultation and strong knowledge of formal consultation processes
* Strong communication and collaboration skills
* Comprehensive writing and time management skills
* Ability to travel and work in remote locations for field projects when required
* Physical fitness and agility to participate in fieldwork in various climates and terrains
