Game Server Developer (C# / .NET) (Mid-Senior)
SMG Studio is a dedicated gaming agency, building and creating engaging games with original and licensed IP for mobile, desktop, and consoles. Offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Los Angeles. Projects include titles such as LEGO Party!, RISK: Global Domination, Moving Out, No Way Home, Death Squared, and more.
Responsibilities
- Developing and maintaining a robust multiplayer communication service using C# / .NET Core. Work with backend technologies like Memcached, Redis, SQL, and Web Services.
- Develop and maintain deployment and monitoring solutions for the system (in conjunction with existing infrastructure code).
- Assist in Unity development to ensure seamless integration and efficient messaging.
- Assist in web services development, or work closely with the web service team for integration with existing services.
- Debug and optimize multi-threaded and multi-server applications.
- Ensure high performance and stability of services over long uptime periods.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in writing C# services, especially with long uptime, using socket connections.
- Strong ability to debug complex multi-threaded and multi-server applications.
- Familiarity with socket communication and related technologies.
- Knowledge of game development and experience working with shared libraries (Unity preferred).
- Understanding of backend integration with Memcached, Redis, SQL, and Web Services.
