The Opportunity

Are you a detail-oriented and customer-focused individual with a passion for finance? St Patrick's College is offering an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Accounts Receivable Officer to join our Accounts and Finance team on a part-time (0.8 FTE) to full time basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of one of Tasmania's leading Catholic colleges. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the smooth and efficient processing of incoming payments and debtor management. You will be responsible for facilitating the accounts receivable process, which includes recording and processing student fees and receipts, ensuring accurate and timely collection of payments, and maintaining positive engagement with families regarding their accounts. The role also includes providing assistance with the College's fortnightly payroll processing, contributing to a smooth and efficient payroll cycle.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and in accordance with the Tasmanian Catholic Education Single Enterprise Agreement 2024, with the applicable Classification as Business Services Level 3.

About You

As an organised and process driven individual, who loves to work in a team you will have:


* Relevant experience in an accounts receivable role, with customer service experience;
* Demonstrated proficiency with office equipment, technology and software. In particular, accounting databases, and spreadsheets;
* Relevant experience in, or willingness to learn, payroll processing and accounts payable functions;
* Strong attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset;
* Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when working with a range of people from differing backgrounds;
* An ability to prioritise competing demands and meet deadlines with accuracy;
* Strong time management and organisational skills including the ability to succeed in a busy and fast paced environment, whilst maintaining superior data entry and high attention to detail;
* Understanding of accounting concepts, particularly in respect of accounts receivable functions; and
* An understanding of and ability to contribute to the mission of St Patrick's College as a Catholic school.
