About Your New Career
In this fast-paced role you will work as a part of a multidisciplinary team within a clinical health centre setting supporting the diverse mental health needs of military members. Referrals will come from a variety of sources; the member, medical team and Joint Health Command (JHC), offering diversity in presentations and support requests. The support you will offer begins with initial intake and assessment with flexibility to accommodate presenting need. There is scope for the use of psychometrics and engagement in treatment that capitalises on your skills, interests and scope of practice. You will have autonomy to manage your caseload including oversight and case management of externally referred cases and the provision of internal treatment to Defence members. Additionally, your skills and management of crisis presentations, risk assessment and risk management planning, is supported within a multi-disciplinary team and with support from the Senior Mental Health team for your region.
What You'll Bring
As a Mental Health Professional?who is committed to providing the highest quality healthcare and are particularly passionate about supporting the improvement of the mental health of others. You have extensive experience in the areas of intake assessments, risk assessments, crisis intervention, case formulation and management, with a demonstrated ability to deliver a range of evidence-based focussed psychological strategies including psychoeducation, cognitive behavioural therapies (e.g. behavioural interventions, behaviour modification, cognitive interventions), relaxation strategies and skills training (e.g. anger management, stress management). You are interested in making a difference in the lives of those who serve our country.

An Australian Citizenship
Demonstrated ability working autonomously, managing a small caseload
A current unrestricted registration with AHPRA as a Psychologist, OR an accreditation with AASW as a Mental Health Social Worker, OR an accreditation with the ACMHN as a Mental Health Registered Nurse or equivalent
Minimum 2 years post graduate experience in the last 5 years in mental health in a primary health or specialist mental health setting
