Permanent residential Project Metallurgist opportunity working Monday to Friday
**Your new role**
In this role, you will be reporting directly to the GM - Group Technical Services. As part of the Technical Service department, you will be integral in researching new technologies for process improvement, conducting and reviewing studies to identify the best technologies for the refinery. You will strive for best practice through actively seeking information from internal and external sources and encourage creative thinking, challenging the way things are done to contribute to the development of new process and optimisation of existing processes. Your main responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Provide support to the operations teams with trouble shooting and technical development.
- Identify improvement opportunities throughout operating plants
- Provide technical support required by operations
- Develop and conduct test work programs and assist development of test pilot plant
- Assist in the development of mass and water balances
- Ensure compliance with project guidelines
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement with projects
**What you'll need to succeed**
- Tertiary qualifications in Process Engineering or Extractive Metallurgy
- Previous experience in processing improvement and test work
- Previous experience with flowsheet development
- Experience commissioning of new processes or plants
- Current manual drivers' licence
- High level of motivation and ability to work autonomously is essential
- Excellent leadership, team building communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of the mineral sands or mineral processing industry
