In your new role as a Workshop Lead Mechanic, you will coordinate daily scheduling and operation of the Supply Chain Operations workshop ensuring quality assurance, compliance and safety. Undertake or guide others in a broad range of mechanical, maintenance and assembly tasks.
From a day to day perspective, your main responsibilities will be:
* Lead and supervise workshop team to meet performance and quality targets
* Coordinate workshop and QA activities to meet safety, compliance, and time requirements
* Maintain forklift fleet and equipment per schedules and regulations
* Ensure workshop safety, organisation, and equipment monitoring
* Deliver or oversee training and compliance assessments
* Drive safety, efficiency, and productivity improvements
* Maintain documentation and support QA processes
* Complete operational, compliance and safety reporting
* Assist with storeperson duties as needed
To be successful in this role, your resume would look something like:
* Mechanical Trade Qualification (agricultural or heavy diesel equipment industry based qualification)
* High Risk Work License - Counterbalance & Reach Forklift (LF)
* Certificate of Competency - Operate Overhead Cranes
* Dogman Ticket (desirable)
* Significant mechanical experience in a lead/ autonomous position within a workshop/ similar environment with a particular focus on equipment assembly, engines and diagnostics, hydraulics
* Demonstrated quality assurance competence and compliance focus, including experience undertaking/ directing training and assessment
* Previous and proven ability to effectively lead, develop and supervise a team to achieve performance, productivity and efficiencies in a workshop context
* Experience driving and maneuvering heavy/ oversized products and machinery
* Substantial experience operation overhead cranes, counterbalance and reach forklifts
* Competence in the operation of a range of power tools, mechanical devices and manual handling aids
* Sound analytical/ problem-solving skills
* Organisational and time management skill
* Up to date mechanical/ technical and working knowledge of full range of product/ equipment gained through regular training/ development/ research
* Well developed interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills
* Capable of undertaking manual handling, including lifting, bending, etc.
* Intermediate general computing skills
* Experience in ensuring the health, safety and well-being of a team and others in the workplace and a demonstrated compliance mindset relevant to legislation and company policy
