Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Senior Compliance Officer to join our team. As a key member of our compliance unit, you will play a pivotal leadership role in guiding investigations into complex issues tied to major development projects across the state.
Main Responsibilities:
* Lead investigations and ensure environmental and planning conditions are being met
* Step in with regulatory action when needed
* Mentor team members and manage external experts
* Shape policy and improve systems to drive better compliance outcomes
Requirements:
* Detailed knowledge of legislation and policies governing land use planning and regulation
* Strong analytical skills to navigate technical issues and deliver clear outcome-focused solutions under pressure
* Confidence in managing sensitive high-profile matters while balancing stakeholder expectations and competing interests
* Experience in mentoring staff coordinating external experts and driving continuous improvement across systems and processes
* A degree qualification in planning environmental management engineering or other relevant discipline
