Job description:
We are looking for a Administration / Records Officer for our client, a State Government Department, based in East Perth who is ready for a quick start.

Role Overview and Function:
Planning Referrals
Perform formal assessment and review of planning referrals from planning authorities, within statutory time frames
Respond to requests for information and provide support on planning matters from internal and

external stakeholders, including implications of planning referrals
Assess and respond to planning referrals including but not limited to Subdivision Applications, Development Applications, Road Closures, Structures Plans, Planning Scheme Amendments, Development Contribution Plans, Local Planning Policy, and Regional Scheme Amendments.
Facilitate the review of planning referrals by other areas within the department to ensure appropriate

and consistent responses to planning referrals
Participate in formal planning forums such as State Development Assessment Unit, Joint

Development Assessment Panel, State Administrative Tribunal, and other working groups

Planning Information Systems
Provide support with the development and maintenance of systems, standards, and guidelines
Provide support with the preparation, storage, and retrieval of road planning information
Maintain planning information to ensure that it complies with specified standards of accuracy and currency
Maintain and improve the operation of systems for recording, tracking, and reporting of planning referrals

Stakeholder Relationships
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including the community regarding planning referral

enquiries and issues
Consult and negotiate with stakeholders and the community to promote balanced planning outcomes

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, OR EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of regional and urban planning, understanding of statutory planning, processes (desirable)
Experience with statutory referral assessments (desirable)
Use of MS Office Suite of Programs, TRIM, and Integrated Mapping Systems/GIS
