Overview / Background
This role supports the delivery of complex ICT and capability projects across Defence, contributing to systems that underpin operational effectiveness, resilience, and mission success. The position requires an experienced Engineer who can operate across design, governance, integration, and assurance activities within highly secure environments.
Defence capabilities operate across operational, deployed, and enterprise contexts and include complex systems spanning infrastructure, applications, networks, and integrated platforms across classified and unclassified domains. These environments are distributed, mission-critical, and require disciplined engineering practices to ensure availability, performance, and security.
Defence engineering environments demand strong governance, lifecycle management, and technical leadership to manage change, mitigate risk, and ensure value for money. Engineers are expected to work across multiple projects, balancing technical delivery with stakeholder engagement and assurance obligations.
Engineering teams operate within a collaborative ecosystem of Defence stakeholders, industry partners, and delivery teams, working together to maintain operational readiness, compliance, and technological relevance.
