What You’ll Be Doing Depending on your experience and the role you step into, you may: Build strong, trusting relationships with young people through day-to-day support, counselling, mentoring and practical life skills Support young people in residential settings, helping create safe, structured, home-like environments (residential youth worker roles only) Facilitate activities, programs, and that build confidence, skill building, capability and belonging Work alongside families, internal programs, community partners and other services ·Support assessment and goal‑planning processes, helping identify strengths, skill‑building needs and progress against Mastery Unit competencies. ·Complete checklists, notes, evaluation tools and reports accurately and on time, with guidance from senior staff. Contribute to a culture grounded in the Circle of Courage, trauma-informed practice and BackTrack values (For Lead roles) Provide guidance, coaching and day-to-day leadership to youth work teams What You’ll Bring You don’t need to tick every box — what matters most is your heart for the work and your ability to show up for young people. We’re looking for people with: Experience working with young people in community, education, residential or wellbeing settings Experience supporting youth programs or group activities, ideally in regional or community settings. Strong relationship-building skills and a calm, grounded presence Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to a positive, values-driven culture Relevant qualifications (Youth Work, Community Services, Social Work or similar) or related discipline Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings/weekends where required WWCC, National Police Check and Driver’s Licence Why BackTrack?
