Description:
As the General Manager Recycling, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring Scouts SA’s recycling operations continue to lead the way in innovation, sustainability, and industry excellence. Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll oversee a dedicated team of managers and drive initiatives that improve efficiency, profitability, and compliance with key legislation, such as the Container Deposit Scheme (CDS). Key responsibilities include:
* Ensuring operational excellence through innovation, process improvement, and resource optimisation.
* Proactively identifying and capturing growth opportunities within the recycling industry.
* Developing strategic partnerships with stakeholders to enhance Scouts SA’s recycling reputation.
* Championing risk management, compliance, and Work Health and Safety (WHS) practices.
* Driving financial sustainability and achieving key performance targets.
* Fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture within recycling operations.

Skills and Experiences:
We’re looking for a visionary leader with a passion for sustainability and a proven ability to deliver results. Our ideal candidate will bring:
* Proven leadership experience, ideally within recycling, logistics, or manufacturing, with a strong track record of delivering growth and operational excellence in complex, fast-paced environments.
* Commercially astute, with a strategic mindset and the ability to identify and capitalise on emerging opportunities.
* In-depth knowledge of regulatory frameworks, with a preference toward Work Health and Safety (WHS) standards and Container Deposit Scheme (CDS) legislation.
* Demonstrated ability to lead large, diverse teams and deliver meaningful cultural and operational transformation.
* Highly developed communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
* Strong history of delivering on financial and performance targets through effective planning and execution.
* Qualifications in Business Management, Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field (highly desirable).
