Mount Isa Mines are currently seeking qualified Motor Mechanics at George Fisher Mine. The Role
We are looking for an experienced Motor Mechanic with a strong involvement in all aspects of maintenance, including routine maintenance, repairs and servicing to join us in the Mobile Maintenance department at George Fisher Mine. In this role you will carry out routine scheduled maintenance tasks, troubleshooting and completing breakdown repairs. You will have the ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently, working in a dynamic and challenging environment with a high focus on planned maintenance by working within a team and promoting site safety standards and ensuring the highest standards of work are conducted and maintained.
Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor, you will have the ability to make decisions, work to meet deadlines and demonstrate exceptional communication skills. The roster for this role is on a 7 on 7 off day and night continuous shift.
Responsibilities
* Working both independently and as part of a multi‐disciplinary trade team
* Demonstrating a high standard of professional workmanship
* Performing light fleet maintenance work, as well as breakdown repairs
* Planned maintenance activities on assets including but not limited to Toyota's, Isuzu, as well as light trucks, buses and small trailers
* Contributing to continuous improvement opportunities
* Delivering personnel and equipment to job sites and returning surplus equipment to stores
* Assisting in achieving budgeted development and production KPIs by performing varied tasks
* Contributing positively to the team environment, operating safely and assisting with delivery of production targets within budget
* Mentoring apprentices
* Project work as required
Qualifications and Attributes
* Trade qualification – Motor Mechanic
* Hold a current manual driver's licence
* Holding a current Refrigeration Handling Licence is highly regarded
* Experience in repairing mobile equipment
* Positive attitude and high safety standards
* Mining or heavy industry experience will be highly regarded
* Holding High Risk Work licence, Working at Heights and Confined Space, forklift licence, MR or HR licence
* Excellent troubleshooting & problem solving skills
* Flexible approach and adaptable to change with a high attention to detail
* Good time‐management skills and able to work well under pressure
* Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
* Good communication skills
* Willingness and ability to learn new processes
* Experience in SAP would be an advantage or similar system
* Experience in Excel would be an advantage
