About the role:
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Field Technician to join our team. This role is primarily focused on core yard operations, supporting geology activities through core processing, cutting, sampling, and dispatch. The role also includes periodic involvement in pit, dump, and ROM sampling, as well as occasional sample preparation support.
Key responsibilities:
* Perform core yard activities including core orientation, metre marking, RQD (Rock Quality Designation), photography, cutting, sampling, and dispatch.
* Safely transport drill core from rigs to the core yard.
* Assist the Senior Mine Technician with the management of core yard facilities.
* Assist the mine geologists with pit, dump, and ROM sampling, including QAQC Implementation.
* Support sample preparation activities at the MRM laboratory as required (receipt/logging, drying, crushing, splitting, and pulverising).
* Promote and adhere to safe work practices, including hazard identification, control, and safety interactions reporting.
* Manage personal performance to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and on time.
* Conduct area inspections, stocktaking, ordering, and asset management to maintain safety and efficiency.
* Effective stakeholder engagement – particularly with the geologists.
What We're Looking For:
* Previous experience in a similar role, particularly with core processing and rig sampling – Desirable
* Proficient in MS Excel and Word.
* Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills
* Valid manual driver's license.
* Exceptional attention to detail.
* Physically fit and able to work in hot and humid conditions.
* Self-motivated with proactive approach, able to work independently.
* Strong commitment to maintaining safety standards.
* High-Risk Work LF (Forklift) and HR license – Desirable
