About Our Client
Our client is a recognised leader in building automation and control systems, delivering intelligent, energy-efficient solutions across commercial, industrial, and infrastructure sectors. With a strong presence across Australia and a reputation for technical excellence, they are now seeking a motivated Business Development Manager to help drive growth in new construction projects. This role is based in Melbourne with national responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in building automation and controls across key verticals including healthcare, data centres, government, and commercial infrastructure.
- Engage with consultants, contractors, and developers to position integrated solutions early in the project lifecycle.
- Lead client discussions from technical discovery through to proposal development and contract negotiation.
- Collaborate with internal engineering, commercial, and delivery teams to ensure solutions meet both technical and commercial objectives.
- Monitor market trends, project pipelines, and regulatory developments to inform strategic planning.
- Represent the company at industry events and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
The Successful Applicant
- A degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field) or equivalent industry experience.
- 3-7 years' experience in business development, technical sales, or solution consulting within building automation, controls, or smart infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of systems such as BMS, HVAC controls, energy management, fire safety, and electronic security.
- Proven ability to manage complex sales cycles and engage senior stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, organised, and capable of working independently
- Willingness to travel as required.
