About the Job:
The purpose of the Production department is to effectively plan, manage and prepare products/WIP components in accordance with product and customer specifications.
The purpose of the Production Supervior/Team Leader (AM Shift) is to oversee, plan, coordinate and control operational processes to ensure that the product is produced effectively and complies with internal and external quality specifications.
The role carries the responsibility of leading, developing and motivating work centre colleagues towards achieving set production and operational targets within their designated areas.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure all team members operate safely and in line with SOP standards.
Stop any unsafe behaviour or actions immediately and enforce correct PPE use.
Complete and maintain required safety documentation (e.g. startup and lockout sheets).
Report all hazards and incidents promptly through Rapid or to the site leadership team.
Lead and coordinate during safety incidents to ensure an organised response.
Ensure all Critical Control Points (CCPs) are completed, checked, and submitted to QA.
Maintain compliance with product specifications, recipes, and quality standards.
Uphold GMP practices including hygiene, housekeeping, and non-conformance procedures.
Ensure production plans are met accurately and on time.
Provide team members with the tools and support required to complete their tasks.
Monitor and communicate shift and work centre performance results.
Identify and resolve downtime or performance issues promptly.
Address non-compliance or performance issues directly with staff as needed.
Lead by example, promoting a culture of safety, quality, and accountability.
Listen to employee concerns and escalate issues to management when required.
What We're Looking for:
Proven production experience, preferably within a manufacturing setting.
Proven experience leading, developing and engaging a team to achieve results.
Proven experience using production-based machinery and equipment.
Proven experience using Microsoft Office Suite products.
Proven experience leading a team to deliver daily targets.
Solid understanding of the operational and technical aspects of the identified area of work.
Sound skills in time management, delegation, prioritising and decision-making.
Proven ability to maintain sound stakeholder relationships.
