About This Opportunity
We are seeking a passionate and strategic leader to join UQ Skills, The University of Queensland's Registered Training Organisation (RTO), as the Manager, Marketing and Student Acquisition. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact, driving student recruitment and engagement across a diverse portfolio while building strong community and industry partnerships.
You'll play a key role in shaping tailored strategies that meet the unique needs of the vocational education and training sector to compliment the broader University strategic goals whilst navigating five regulatory bodies with confidence. With around 30% of your time focused on marketing, the real challenge, and reward, will lie in leading innovative lead generation and industry engagement initiatives. Working with a high level of independence, you'll have the scope to create meaningful change while staying connected to the broader university network.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Lead Marketing and Recruitment – Drive domestic and international student acquisition strategies, including lead generation, enquiry management, and conversion initiatives.
* Develop Strategic Campaigns – Shape and deliver integrated marketing plans in collaboration with UQ Skills leadership and central UQ stakeholders, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
* Manage Partnerships and Engagement – Build and maintain strong relationships with industry, business, and international partners to support student recruitment and program growth.
* Create and Coordinate Content – Produce marketing collateral and digital content and deliver events that promote UQ Skills programs and engagement activities.
* Leverage Data and Tools – Optimise marketing and leads management performance using CRM systems, analytics, and insight-driven approaches to enhance student engagement and partnership outcomes.
This is a continuing position with part-time (between 60-80%) or full-time arrangement upon negotiation. The position reports to the UQ Skills Director (RTO CEO) and works closely with central marketing and recruitment Senior Managers.
At HEW level 8, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $115,645.22 - $129,654.48 p.a. plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $135,304.91 - $151,695.74 p.a. As this role is covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases – at least once a year.
UQ Skills is committed to recruiting talent for this role. As such, full time appointments will be considered, and the total salary package above will be negotiated based on individual merit.

About You
You are a dynamic and motivated professional with a passion for marketing, communications, and student recruitment. You may have primarily excelled in either marketing or student recruitment but possess the skills and knowledge to traverse both areas. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are excited about the opportunity to contribute to UQ Skills' success.
You bring a wealth of experience in managing marketing campaigns, engaging with diverse stakeholders, and/or driving student recruitment initiatives. Your strong organisational and analytical skills enable you to develop and implement effective strategies that achieve results because you, too, simply want to make a difference.
The successful candidate may be required to complete background checks including, right to work in Australia, working with children check, criminal history and education checks.
