About the Role
This leadership position offers the chance to take ownership of payroll strategy, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement among a high-performing payroll team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and coach a dynamic payroll team, encouraging innovation, data-driven decision-making, and process redesign.
* Oversee end-to-end payroll operations for a medium-to-large workforce, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality.
* Manage fortnightly cycles, superannuation, PAYG, deductions, and leave entitlements.
* Drive the transition to in-house payroll, including system optimisation and process redesign.
* Lead payroll audits, internal controls, and risk mitigation strategies.
* Partner with Finance and People teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and workforce planning.
* Champion innovation by improving payroll systems and integrating new technology.
To be successful in this role, you will require 10+ years' experience managing payroll in a medium-to-large organisation, strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, awards, and enterprise agreements, and relevant qualifications in HR, Finance, or a related field.
