We're seeking an experienced Recoveries Officer to join a high-performing team dedicated to delivering best-in-class loss recovery services. About the Role Reporting to the Loss Prevention Team Leader, you'll manage a portfolio of high-risk accounts in arrears. Your focus will be on reducing delinquency, mitigating losses, and ensuring all actions align with regulatory and compliance requirements. Key Responsibilities Manage a portfolio of high-risk arrears accounts referred from the Late Arrears team Use sound judgement to determine account outcomes, including write-offs or referral to external agencies Engage with customers to negotiate immediate payments or tailored repayment arrangements Maintain clear and accurate records of customer interactions and account activity Instruct and manage third-party mercantile agencies to drive resolution strategies Oversee the repossession and asset sale process in line with policy and due process Identify and escalate risk issues promptly to protect the business and ensure compliance Ensure all actions comply with NCCP, Privacy Act, RG 165, and internal policy standards Follow internal contact strategies and make informed decisions to mitigate or reduce losses About You Demonstrated experience in collections or recoveries, ideally within asset finance or financial services Strong knowledge of debt recovery regulations and responsible lending frameworks Proven negotiation skills with the ability to manage difficult conversations professionally Experience working with mercantile agencies and auction houses High attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced, KPI-driven environment Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with internal stakeholders Comfortable learning and explaining complex recovery processes Why Join our client?
