Assistant Director Early Education Centre

* Fixed term, full time Assistant Director opportunity (until end of year)
* Off-the-floor leadership role in a child centred Early Education Centre
* Purpose driven role making a positive impact for children and families

Ipswich Girls' Grammar School including Ipswich Junior Grammar School offers high quality, non-denominational education to students from Kindy to Year 12 (co-education from Kindy to Year 6, girls only Years 7-12). Established in 1892, the School is one of eight original Grammar Schools in Queensland. The School aims to educate students to become confident, well-educated young women, girls and boys and we pride ourselves on providing a personalised, holistic education with a focus on academic excellence.

THE OPPORTUNITY

A short 30-minute drive from Brisbane, the School's heritage-listed campus is conveniently located in the middle of Ipswich. We offer the opportunities of a large city, with the quiet feel of a smaller town.

The Early Education Centre (EEC) is delighted to offer an exciting fixed-term, full-time opportunity (until the end of the year) for an experienced and passionate Assistant Director to join our leadership team. Working closely with the EEC Director, you will support the delivery of a high‐quality, innovative early education program while providing strong operational and educational leadership across the Centre.

This is a full-time, off-the-floor leadership role, working alongside a dedicated team of teachers and educators to create welcoming, inclusive, and child‐centred learning environments grounded in warm, respectful relationships. You will also play a key role in building positive partnerships with families and the wider School community. Duties include:

* Supporting the EEC's commitment to child safeguarding, child safe standards, and regulatory compliance
* Assisting with staff scheduling, including coordinating and managing a responsive casual relief pool
* Partnering with the Director as co‐Educational Leader to support pedagogical quality and professional practice
* Advocating for the rights, wellbeing, and best interests of all children
* Supporting families through responsive communication, enrolment onboarding, and ongoing engagement
* Contributing to initiatives that enhance service quality and the overall family experience

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

You are an organised, approachable, and engaged leader with a genuine passion for early childhood education and a strong commitment to child‐centred practice. You will bring warmth, professionalism, and a positive mindset to all that you do, along with:

* A Bachelor or Diploma qualification in Early Childhood Education (or equivalent), with experience in a similar leadership role
* Eligibility to work in Australia and the ability to hold or obtain a Working with Children Suitability Card (Blue Card)
* Sound knowledge and experience working within the National Quality Framework and the Early Years Learning Framework
* Experience leading and supporting early education teams to deliver engaging, inclusive, and high‐quality learning experiences
* Strong interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills
* High‐level computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Teams
* Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills, with good attention to detail

Most importantly, you will align with our values, enjoy working collaboratively, and be driven by a desire to make a meaningful and positive impact on children, families, and the wider community.

The successful candidate will benefit from our above award conditions, access to Salary Sacrificing benefits including additional superannuation opportunities, amazing professional development opportunities and EEC staff days, wellness initiatives (e.g. onsite fitness centre), onsite parking and a supportive and an engaging work environment.
