A rare and exciting opportunity has come up for a Graduate Environmental Consultant to join our team in Nuriootpa This opportunity has come about due to the promotion within the team leaving a void at this level. We are seeking someone with up to 2 years of experience in Environmental Consulting. Regulatory and/or extractive industry experience will be viewed favourably but is not required, with the right attitude and aptitude we will provide you with training and guidance.
This is a diverse team that is constantly kicking goals and has the support of the wider Environmental Approvals, Closure and Management team across Australia. You will enjoy undertaking a range of project work whilstlearning from this experienced teamanddeveloping client relationshipsthroughout the region. You will be motivated and our team will empower you to develop your skills in targeted document development, technical understanding and project management.
Key Responsibilities
Job tasks and responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
* Building and maintaining effective relationships with our clients and internal SLR team members
* Supporting Compliance Auditing and annual reporting
* Assisting with the development of Environmental Impact Assessments and management plans
* Assisting with the delivery of Mining Lease Proposals, Programs for Environment Protection and Rehabilitation and Mine Operations Plans and Estimated Rehabilitation Cost calculations
* Assisting in the environmental monitoring across a range of areas such as surface water, groundwater, dust, soils and more
* Working within and supporting multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects across a range of sectors
* Delivering clear and precise, high-quality reports
* Occasional travel to undertake field studies
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you will be a positive and engaging character with a great sense of humour as well as have:
* A degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or a related field
* 0-2 years + experience in Environmental Science, preferably in Consulting.
* Working knowledge of SA environmental legislation and policies, standards, and guidelines
* Experience in the mining, infrastructure, power and/or agribusiness sectors is highly valued but not a prerequisite.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Experience with Consulting software and intermediate-advanced excel skills.
* Australian Citizenship or rights to work in Australia.
