Join the next wave of Legal AI

This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with a law degree to move into a role at the intersection of law, AI, regulatory compliance and product development. Working within a leading global legal and regulatory business, you will help shape how AI‐powered tools deliver accurate, reliable and practical compliance guidance. This is not a traditional legal role. It is ideal for someone who enjoys legal research, technology, problem‐solving and improving systems, and wants to apply those strengths in a fast‐moving AI environment.

You will play a key role in testing and improving AI‐generated regulatory compliance outputs, ensuring responses are accurate, well‐grounded and aligned to customer expectations. You will work closely with product, engineering and data science teams and contribute to how legal and regulatory content is structured, evaluated and enhanced for AI use cases.

About the role

As a Legal & AI Analyst, you will act as a subject matter expert supporting the development and improvement of AI solutions in the regulatory compliance market. You will validate AI‐generated responses, identify areas for improvement, conduct legal and regulatory research, and help structure content in ways that improve AI accuracy, usability and customer outcomes.

Key responsibilities

  • Review and validate AI‐generated legal and regulatory responses for accuracy, relevance and usability
  • Identify logic gaps, edge cases and performance issues, and recommend improvements
  • Conduct legal and regulatory research to verify and support AI outputs
  • Provide structured feedback to product, engineering and data science teams
  • Support prompt design, evaluation frameworks and training data improvements
  • Identify patterns and insights to enhance AI performance and customer experience
  • Contribute to taxonomy, metadata and content structuring for AI systems
  • Investigate customer feedback and determine optimal solutions
  • Work across Australian, UK and global regulatory environments

About you

You are likely a legally trained professional or a law graduate who is curious about the practical application of AI in legal and compliance environments. You may come from legal practice, compliance, legal publishing, regtech, policy or research, and are looking to transition into a more future‐focused role.

What you'll bring

  • A law degree
  • Experience in legal, publishing, regulatory or compliance environments
  • Strong legal research skills using primary sources
  • Interest in or exposure to AI tools and emerging technologies
  • Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills
  • Ability to work with both technical and non‐technical stakeholders
  • A customer‐focused mindset
  • Highly regarded experience with legal AI, AI evaluation or testing
  • Exposure to prompt engineering or structured feedback workflows
  • Experience with taxonomy, metadata or structured content
  • Cross‐jurisdictional experience (Australia, UK or global)
  • Background in legal publishing, governance, policy or software environments

Working arrangements

This role can be based anywhere in Australia including Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra or Brisbane, with flexible hybrid working. Depending where you are located, the team operates with 1‐2 days in the office and collaborates globally, so occasional out‐of‐hours meetings may be required.

We are looking to fill this role as soon as possible – apply now to be considered.

We are an equal opportunity employer: qualified applicants are considered for and treated during employment without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sex, national origin, citizenship status, disability status, protected veteran status, age, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by law.
