The Role
Our fire and hydraulic services team is responsible for providing efficient and innovative design solutions for various building services projects including commercial / retail office fit outs, new commercial / industrial buildings, residential and aged care developments, high-rise tower base building upgrades, building audits and water-saving initiatives.
As a member of the team, your responsibilities will include:
* Preparation of accurate and detailed services design solutions for hydraulic services and/or fire services.
* Preparation of contract documentation for tendering and construction purposes.
* Managing design projects from concept through to completion, including consultation with all members of the design team.
* Attending site inspections to review existing services and construction works.
* Carrying out fire safety audits and providing compliance advice.
* Liaising with equipment suppliers and manufacturers.
* Liaising with authorities, including Trade Waste, Plumbing, Fire Authority, etc.
* Researching new products and design practices.
* Conducting peer reviews and assisting with junior engineer training and development.
Skills and Experience:
Our ideal candidate will:
* Have relevant tertiary qualifications as recognised by Engineers Australia and/or QBCC.
* Have a minimum of five (5) years of previous design experience working with an engineering consultancy or relevant contracting company. Experience in both hydraulic and fire services will be an advantage.
* Have sound knowledge of the BCA, Australian Standards, and local Authority requirements.
* Have a willingness to carry out further training and/or part-time study relevant to the role.
* Be proficient at driving and hold a C class license.
* Have proven written and verbal communication skills and sound problem-solving skills.
* Have the ability to work both autonomously and within a team environment.
* Have the ability to adapt seamlessly to change within the workplace.
* Maintain a high degree of professionalism and integrity.
* Have the permanent working rights in Australia.
